The notice of her burial appears in the oldest (pre-869) part of the obituary of Saint-Germain-des-Prés ["iij non. Dec. Dep. Hrottrudis, conjugis Gerehardi" Longnon (1884), 52; Obit. Sens 1.1: 280].

Mother: Unknown.
Since Charlemagne had two daughters named Rotrude and Rothilde, Depoin suggested that he and Rotrude were related [Depoin (1912), 89]. However, there is no direct evidence regarding the parentage of Rotrude.
