Elizabeth Richards
wife of John Richardson.

Date of birth: July 1675.
Date of baptism: 21 March 1679/80.
Place of baptism: Farmington, CT.
[Farmington Records, 37]

Date of death: 23 May 1750?
Place of death: Recorded at Waterbury, CT.
[Waterbury Vit. Rec., 1: 114, FHL film #6,111 (date hard to read)]

Father: Obadiah Richards, d. bef. 24 November 1702.
Mother: Hannah (prob. Andrews).

Spouses:

(1) m. Waterbury, CT, 13 January 1702/3, John Richardson, b. 15 April 1672, d. 17 October 1712.
[Waterbury VR 1: 114, FHL film #6,111]

(2) m. bef. 29 May 1727, Nathaniel Arnold Sr., d. Westbury, CT, 13 September 1753.
Her marriage to Nathaniel Arnold Sr. is proven by the Waterbury vital records [Waterbury Vit. Rec. 1: 114, FHL film #6,111], and by the distribution of the estate of her mother Hannah Richards on 29 May 1727, in which one share went to Elizabeth Arnold, wife of Nathaniel Arnold Sr. [Woodbury, CT Probate Register 1: 33, FHL film #6,171]. Some confusion may be caused by the fact that Elizabeth's daughter Elizabeth married her stepbrother Nathaniel Arnold Jr., son of Nathaniel Sr. by an earlier marriage, both both of these marriages seem well documented. Nathaniel Arnold Sr., formerly of Hartford, appears as a grand juror in Waterbury in December 1723 [Hist. Waterbury, CT, 244]. He removed to Westbury, where he died on 13 September 1753 [Hist. Waterbury, CT, 245; Waterbury, CT to 1895, 1: Appendix, 9].
