m. Hackness, 27 June 1770, Eleanor Gray, b. ca. 1847, bur. Hackness, 14 January 1830.
William Dickinson is called "of Hilla Green" or "of Everley" in the baptisms of his children [Hackness PRT]. One of his sons was named "Craven", which clearly identifies him as a member of this family ["Craven son of Wm. and Eleanor Dickinson of Everleigh christd. July 11th , Hackness PRT]. William was probably the William Dickinson of Hackness who was buried at Hackness on 11 December 1797, aged 57 (which would only be one year off). The will of Eleanor Dickinson of Hackness, widow, dated 2 December 1829, and proved 5 May 1830, gave her entire estate to her daughter Elizabeth Dickinson, who was named sole executrix [PCY 181: 342, FHL film #99,801]

Possible earlier wife (very
_____, living 17 December 1737.
Possible earlier child (very uncertain): Henry Dickinson, living 17 December 1737.
The will of Henry Dickinson's father Henry Dickinson, dated 17 December 1737, mentions a Henry Dickinson son of Henry and Elizabeth Dickinson ["... if Henry Dickinson the son of Henry
Dickinson Dye before his mother
Elizabeth Dickinson she shall have Five pounds by his Executor
..." PCY 85: 402, FHL film #99,705]. If the present Henry
Dickinson was the father of that child (which is one possible
interpretation), he would have to be by an otherwise unknown
previous wife also named Elizabeth. No source beyond the will
supports the existence of this wife and child, which remains
doubtful. See the page of the elder Henry Dickinson for a more
