[Hackness BT; Hackness PRT; Market Weighton PR] The Hackness registers have 1780 baptisms listed in two places, with significant differences in several of the baptisms. One give Rebecca daughter of [blank] Rhodes baptized 23 April, and the other gives Rebecca daughter of Emanuel Rhodes of Hutton Bushel baptized 16 April [Hackness PRT].

Child by uncertain mother:
If the ages given to Dorothy (Consitt) Cartwright on her gravestone and two American censuses are correct, she was born about 1800, well before the marriage of Thomas Consitt and Rebecca Rhodes. Unfortunately, Dorothy's baptism has not been found. Her status as a daughter of Thomas Consitt is proven by the will of Thomas Consitt, transcribed below.

The will of Edward Cockerill of Cornhills Farm in the parish of Hutton Bushel, dated 28 July 1860, and proved 23 August 1861, mentioned his son Edward Dickinson Cockerill, daughter Mary Ann Cockerill, daughter Rebecca Cockerill, son William Cockerill, son Thomas Fewster Cockerill, youngest daughter Eliza Jane Cockerill, and wife Mary [FHL film #1,471,042].

Will of Thomas Consitt of Market Weighton, dated 25 July 1834, proved 8 March 1839.

This is the last Will and Testament of Thomas Consitt of Market Weighton in the County of York Yeoman made and published this twenty fifth day of July in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four I give and devise all my cottages tenements or dwellinghouses and all other my real estate situate in Market Weighton aforesaid or elsewhere with the rights members and appurtenances to the same respectively belonging unto my dear wife Rebecca and her assigns and during the term of her natural life provided she so long continue my Widow but not otherwise and from and after her decease or second marriage whichever shall first happen I give and devise the same unto my son William Consitt his heirs and assigns forever subject to and charged and chargeable with the payment by my said son of the following legacies or sums of money that is to say of the sum of two pounds to my daughter Dorothy Cartwright the sum of three pounds to my daughter Mary Consitt and the sum of ten pounds to each of my four Children Ann Thomas Dickinson and Rebecca Consitt which I hereby give and bequeath to them accordingly And direct the same to be paid within twelve calendar months after my said son shall come into possession of my said real estate I give and bequeath all my farming stock and implements of husbandry sum and sums of money securities for money goods chattels and all and singular other my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever unto my brother Edward Consitt of Market Weighton aforesaid Farmer his executors administrators and assigns Upon trust and to the intent that he or they do cultivate and manage the farm I now occupy and pay out of the profits and produce arising therefrom unto my daughter Elizabeth within twelve calendar months after my decease the sum of ten pounds and the residue of such profits and produce unto my said wife for and during the term of her natural life in for and towards the maintenance and support of herself and children provided she so long continue my widow but not otherwise and from and after her decease or marriage which ever shall first happen Upon trust to pay and divide the said principal monies and trust promises unto and equally between my two sons William and Henry share and share alike and which I hereby give and bequeath to them accordingly And I do hereby will and direct that my said trustee his executors or administrators shall be charged and chargeable only for such monies as he or they shall actually receive by virtue of the trusts hereby in him reposed and shall not be answerable or accountable for any misfortune loss or damage which shall not happen by or through his or their own wilful neglect or default respectively And also that it shall and may be lawful to and for him and them by and out of the monies which shall come to his or their hands by virtue of the Trusts of this my Will to return to and reimburse himself and them all such loss costs charges damages and expenses which he or they shall or may suffer sustain expend or be put unto in or about the execution of the Trusts of this my Will And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Edward Consitt Sole Executor In trust of this my will And do hereby revoke all former and other Wills and Wills by me at any time heretofore made And do declare this and this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Consitt the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first within written - Thomas Consit - Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Consitt the Testator as and for his last Will and Teastament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto - Thomas Hanley Barker - Leonard Flint - Thomas Mitchell - passed 8th March 1839.
