In the Name of God Amen I Mathew Audas of
Hutton Bushell in the County of York yeoman being in good health
of Body and of perfect and disposing mind and Memory praised be
God for it but yet neverthelese mindfull of my mortality do make
and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form
following First and principally I commend my soul into the hands
of Almighty God my Creator stedfastly hoping for full remission
of my sins through the merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour and as
for and concerning my real and personal Estate and Effects
whereof I am anyways seized or possessed I give and Dispose
thereof as followeth First I give and devise All that my Messuage
house wherein I now dwell with the Outhouses garths and Croft and
all other the appurtenances thereunto belonging and also All
those four Oxgangs of Land and also All other my closes Lands
tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever scituate standing lying
and being within the Town Fields Precincts and Territories of
Hutton Bushell aforesaid unto my loving wife Catherine Audas for
and during the term of her natural Life and from and immediately
after her death and decease as for and concerning All that my
said Messuage house Outhouses Garths and Croft and also the said
four Oxgangs of arrable Land with meadow and pasture in the
Juggs(?) to the same belonging and also two broad arrabale Lands
lying in the high field called Bentley Lands and also one Close
called Hophill and One other close called Lownam from and
<immediately> after the decease of my said Loving Wife as
aforesaid I give and devise the same unto my Grandson George
Craven To hold to him and his heirs and assigns for ever And my
mind and Will is and I do hereby order and Devise that after the
decease of my said Loving Wife my three Grand Daughters Catherine
Craven Ann Craven and Elizabeth Craven shall have Liberty in they
shall so think fitt to inhabit and dwell in the said house
wherein I now live and so devised to my Grandson as aforesaid for
the space of two years without the lett or interruption of my
said Grandson and without paying any rent to him for same And
also I give and Devise to my said three Grand daughters Catherine
Ann and Elizabeth All those two Closes lying
below the road leading to Scarborough within the Township of
Hutton Bushell aforesaid and adjoining upon a Close belonging to
Thomas Layton on the East and a Bath called Gallow Bath on the
West to enter upon from and imediately after the death of my said
Loving Wife Catherine and to hold to my said three Grand
Daughters Catherine Ann and Elizabeth to them and to their
severall and respective heirs and Assigns for ever as Tennants in
Common and not as Joint Tennants freed and discharged from the
payment of free rents and all other rents whatsoever I give and
bequeath to the Poor of Hutton Bushell ten Shillings to be paid
by me Executor herein after named And also I give and bequeath to
my said three Grand Daughters Catherine Ann and Elizabeth after
the death of my said Loving Wife All and singular my Household
goods whatsoever to be equally divided amonst them and my Mind
and Will further is and I do hereby give and bequeath after the
decease of my said Loving Wife All the rest and residue of my
goods and Chattells Stock and Crop not by me herein before
devised unto my said four Grand Children George Catherine Ann and
Elizabeth to be equally divided amongst them And Lastly I do
hereby constitute Ordaine and appoint my said Loving Wife sole
Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby
revoke and make void all former and other will and wills by me at
any times heretofore made And I do hereby publish and declare
this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of January in
the year of Our Lord 1735 Mathew Audas Signed sealed Published
and Declared by the said Mathew Audas as and for his last Will
and testament in Our presence and by us subscribed as Witnesses
thereto in his presence Charles Cartwright Eustace Storr
